My flu still in tow, we arrived safely in Houston yesterday to spend Thanksgiving with my parents. Walking in the door, I was greeted with this amazing sight:
This morning, we set out to unpack the cards and stamp each one with the Operation Write Home logo. My mom, Sue, and I tag-teamed to sort and stamp, making the work go super fast. I was actually disappointed when we were all finished.
With only one day’s mail to go, we counted 444 cards submitted for Scrappers Give Thanks. Yay! You guys are so amazing…
sending me mail from around the world…
writing Dear Hero cards and letters…
and crafting the most delightful, creative cards I’ve ever seen…
From the Sjolins & Wilsons, we wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving and…
That’s my mom again. She’ll be in charge of making sure any late-arriving cards get off to Operation Write Home!
Wow, 444 cards so far… that is awesome! I was so excited to see some of my cards in the pictures above, so glad you got them safely!
wow! that is so great! and the cards you pictured are fabulous! and i feel a little sad because mine seem so plain and basic compared to some of those above. but i guess they will all go a long ways to brightening someones day!
thank you to your mom and you for organizing, sorting, stamping and sending them! have a great thanksgiving!
I was so happy to read this post. You see, I was feeling ashamed because I didn’t get the cards done that I said I was going to do, but then you mentioned that your mom was going to take care of any late-arriving cards. Will it be all right for me to get these in the mail to you and her first thing Friday morning? I will spend all day tomorrow (Thanksgiving Day) making them. They’ll probably all be paper-scrapped rather than made digitally since I can’t get my printer driver to stay loaded. I’ll look for your answer here or you can email me directly. Thank you for your understanding!
While we will mail off any later-arriving cards, it’s best if you send your cards directly to one of the Operation Write Home shippers. I only had them sent to us first to make the drawing easier.

How neat. 2 of my cards are pictured here. I had pledged to make a card for every comment I received during the OWH blog hop and had 46. I sent it 46 cards, yay me! Ok, ok, I didn’t make about 5 of them but still. I’m working on more to send directly to OWH again. Thanks for doing this…it was so much fun!
