The cookies are frosted, the gifts are wrapped and the boys are playing Rock Band, a present from their mom. I’m squeezing this post to you in between dishes and a new board game we got last weekend.
This week at Capture the Season, our 6 week e-course on simple holiday memory keeping, we covered:
- 15 minutes to a stress-free week
- Seasonal finds for Dec. 20, 2009
- Digging deep for better journaling: Part 1
- Last minute tips for great Christmas photos
- Homespun inspiration for your seasonal scrapping
Did you tackle this week’s assignment? Here’s the prompt again:
We enter the season full of grand hopes for a beautiful, perfect holiday season. By the time the big day nears, we’re often drowning in unwrapped packages and are working hard to stay afloat. Take time out to capture the reality of your holiday and the daily life that surrounds it. Use these images to stir your feelings about all this hustle and bustle. Document ways you’re succeeding at finding small moments of peace during this busy time.
I had a hard time keeping the stress at bay this week. I got home from San Francisco late Friday night and had a to-do list and obligations all weekend long. As crazy as it sounds, grabbing a few moments for some extra cleaning and organization helped me feel like things were more in order. An extra batch of cookies, a brief overnight away with my husband and a homemade dinner for two also helped! As the boys tap tap tap their way to rock and roll glory just steps away, I feel a fullness and joy of having a full house on Christmas Eve.
Don’t forget to check out Aud’s week 4 recap and pop back tomorrow evening for week 5’s assignment and template.
