Today officially kicks off the planning for Scrappers Give Thanks 2010. At 8pm central tonight I’m hosting a discussion in the Simple Scrapper chat room to brainstorm ideas for this year’s charitable event for scrapbookers.
What is Scrappers Give Thanks?
Last year SGT began as a way to unite scrapbookers of all styles, experience levels and geographic locations in the spirit of gratitude. During the first edition, we collected over 600 handmade cards for Operation Write Home, an organization that helps deployed US service men and women write home to their families.
The event took place during the month prior to Thanksgiving, with the results announced by video on Thanksgiving Day! We had an incredible group of sponsors who offered generous incentives for the participants. Everyone went home a winner!
What is in store for this year?
For 2010, I really want to hand this over to the community to pick an exceptional project and help turn ideas into reality. I’ve got a domain parked and ready for a new design and we’ll do a logo contest with the winner receiving advertising on the SGT site as well as at Simple Scrapper. So many possibilities, so much fun and just under five months until we launch! Will you help?
