As part of the Week of Story, I’m sharing three essential values I hold for storytelling through photos, words, and art.
Scrapbooking is the marriage of words and photos with art. The art provides a wrapper, a context, a home for the story you want to tell. While the most simple albums with words and photos tell stories quite nicely, the products we use can bring a story to life and illustrate the message visually. Plus, it’s a lot of fun.
Jennifer’s Essential Value #3
There is only so much time. Every chance you have to scrapbook is an opportunity to make it count – to learn something new, to explore your creative boundaries, to tell a story from the depths of your heart. While every page won’t satisfy all these needs, each layout gives you a chance to go “all-in”. When you hold back out of fear or put off creating, you miss out on all the good that comes from embracing vulnerability and sharing yourself in a piece of art.
