I want to start a new little series here, highlighting clever avenues for developing inspiration for creativity and memory keeping. This first installment showcases ideas from an event not too far from where I live, the Apple & Pork Festival. Make sure to let me know what you think!
Fall is by far my favorite time of the year. I love to layer on a cardigan, swoop a colorful scarf around my neck and head out to one of the many food- and/or craft-related fall festivals. Something about the crisp air, the turning leaves and the smell of funnel cakes totally warms my heart.
The best part of all is soaking in all the handmade and not-so-handmade crafty goodness! Last weekend I snapped these photos – which offered more scrapbooking ideas that I though possible.
I’ve never scrapbooked about moving to Texas…
and how surprised I was that I wouldn’t be riding a horse to school.
I scrap about my husband a lot, the soulfulness in his eyes is definitely why.
My bedroom at my grandparents’ house was full of old paperbacks like these…
I could do an entire mini album about crazy festival foods,
like handmade onion blossoms!
I love all these nature-inspired glass colors!
This is an easy idea for making dimensional flowers –
whether from fabric or paper!
As much as I love simple, I also relish in floofy fluffiness!
One of the most inspiring parts of nature: texture!
I wonder how many pumpkin shots I have taken over the years?
These lovely art quilts from Kathy Francis really got my mojo revved up!
I love the combination of quilting and papercrafts techniques!
Teal is MY color. Teal butterflies = pure inspiration, pure bliss, pure magic!
Now what could I make with these? My mind is spinning from this great find!
Are you a festival lover too? Have you been to any yet? What was the theme? What kind of inspiration have festivals given you for your creative or memory keeping projects?
