Something about the warmer weather, the sunshine and the blue skies instills an urge to better our surroundings. After you put away those winter sweaters, don’t forget to invest some time in spring cleaning your digital scrapbooking world. Use this checklist to make the process easy as pie.
1. Print and protect
Select the layouts worthy of your album and send them off to the printers. Protect each piece of art with a page protector.
2. Declutter
Go through your stash and delete freebies older than a year that you’ve never touched. Accept that you just weren’t that into them.
3. Clear out
Move layouts you’ve printed and kits you only use once in a blue moon to a DVD or an external hard drive.
4. Catch up
Is your downloads file overflowing? Put that organization system to work and get your new supplies in order.
5. Back it up
Reduce the risk of losing everything by backing up regularly. Choose an external hard drive and/or an online service like Mozy.
6. Delete and defrag
Delete files that are not needed and empty the trash can/recycle bin. PC users can free up even more space by defragmenting their drives.
7. Plan wisely
Set up a system so you always know what task is next. Start a spreadsheet that lists challenges you want to participate in and any CT requirements to meet.
Following these 7 simple steps will help clear your mind and set you on a course for even greater creativity to come!
Love your list Jennifer! I really need to follow one or two (or all of these)!
