This is a guest post from Aaron Morris aka Sir Scrapalot, who shares his best tips for scrapbooking productivity here once a month!
So each month, I am here telling you how to better manage your time so that you can get more done and be more effective. Last month, I shared with you how I was scheduling my holiday season. Now that the holidays are officially upon us (is Christmas really next weekend?), I am declaring it officially time to slow down. Here’s why:
- It’s the holiday season, you need to enjoy it. It’s so easy to get caught up in getting everything “just right” that we often find ourselves overwhelmed and we miss out on the things that truly make the season special. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or Three Kings Day (or nothing at all for that matter) it’s a special time to enjoy the world around us. Take advantage of it.
- Spend time with your loved ones. Our friends and family help create who we are, and are the people we love most in our lives. This time of year is perfect for enjoying their presence and letting them know how much they mean to you.
- Reflect, regroup, and plan ahead. Traditionally, as we approach a new year, we start to reflect on the year that has passed and start thinking about what we want from the year in front of us. Try to slow down and think about the good and the bad from 2011, and then take that to start creating a fantastic 2012. Make sure you sign up for the FREE Time Management course here at Simple Scrapper at the beginning of January. I have a feeling that this class with help me shape my 2012.
So I encourage you to take some time in the next few weeks to slow down and enjoy yourself. I hope that you have a joyous holiday season (if you celebrate one, or even if you don’t) and I look forward to sharing more of my thoughts on scrapbooking productivity and time management in the new year!
