It’s your turn to talk! Have you ever made a 6×12 layout or one of a different non-standard size? Leave a comment sharing your experiences changing up your scrapbooking canvas.
Yes, I have made 6×12 layouts. In fact one of my favorite layouts ever is 6×12. I took a class years ago at BPC that was all 6×12. And this year I’m doing my Day in the Life pages using Ali Edwards 6×12 template.Last year I did a few 6×12 layouts for Project Life. I love how the inserts look in my Project Life. It’s a great size plus I like the idea Noell Hyman and Stacy Julian have discussed about doing a page and half size, where you stick your journaling on a 6×12 page if you have a lot to say.
I’m always surprised we don’t see more people creating in 6×12!
Really liked today’s video! I love the last the best – I can definitely see how I will implement in the future. I am usually photo heavy but love the single focus/artsy/embellished look. I like that the story is on one side and extra photos on the other. This will help me move from grid like 12×12 arrangements. Thank you!
Thanks Gina! Right now I’m really into finding ways to have a little fun with design while still maintaining a lot of simplicity and including a lot of photos and story.
It’s definitely different to scrap in another size. I scrap A4, the regular paper size in Europe… and I always feel a bit outside the crowd since most people are showing off square layouts and sharing those design tips. I agree that it’s good to break out of your usual size to experiment and learn that you can apply your design and style to any size in the end. I like adding extra flaps in different sizes into my scrapbook albums, so it’s somewhat like a 6×12… whatever works for that extra piece of ephemera or journaling you might want to include.
Extra “flaps” and page inserts definitely make albums a little more fun and unexpected for the viewer.
Curious Linda, when you buy products from the US (or maybe you don’t), do you cut down your 12×12 paper to A4?
Where I can find those 6 x 12 sheet protectors?
American Crafts makes them.
Tnx! 😉
Do you put these in a 12 by 12 scrapbook?
Yes I do Phyllis!
Thanks for the 6×12 info. Haven’t tried this before so will be anxious to see how it works. Excited to get going on a graduation project. Thanks Jen.
