Simple Scrappers, meet Eve Recinella! Eve is a passionate scrapper, mom and blogger. She’s very friendly and super active on the digiscrapping forums. We’ve asked her to share some things about herself and how she balances life and scrapping.
“The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.”
– Henry David Thoreau
What’s your story?
Hi, I’m Eve Recinella and I am a 36 year old SAHM to two wonderful kids. My daughter is 7 and my son is 4. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my husband of almost 11 years. I moved here to Denmark 11 years ago from Canada where I was born and raised. I started scrapping in January 2005.
What do you like best about digital scrapbooking?
It is such a creative outlet for me. I tend to be very creative oriented, but am also busy and have limited space, so digital scrapping is the perfect fit for me. I can be as creative as I want with no mess. All I have to do is turn on my computer and I am ready to go!
What’s your scrapping routine?
I am not sure I really have a routine. I usually tend to scrap on weekdays, usually in the mornings. My daughter is in school and my son enjoys to play independently at that time. I have my desktop set up in my bedroom, so that is where I scrap. I usually pick a kit I’d like to work with and start with that. Photos tend to be the last things I add to a LO.
How do you keep your supplies organized?
I used ACDSee10 and tag all my supplies. I also have all my files backed up on three hard drives.
You used to design for Sweet Shoppe. Why did you decide to stop?
It was such a hard decision, but I wanted to spend more time with my family and get back to scrapping pages. I loved to design, but it really is very time consuming and I found it hard to balance everything
Who are your favorite designers?
Gosh, I have so many. LOL The girls at Sweet Shoppe Designs top my list, along with Kasia Designs, Sausan Designs, and Cre Bisontine. I also love Chrissy W. for her templates. I am sure I am leaving someone out! LOL
If you had to pick one kit as your favorite, which would it be?
Wow, I don’t think I could pick just one! I am loving Cre Bisontine’s Celya’s World Of Love right now, but my tastes always seem to be evolving and changing. My favorites change daily sometimes!
What other hobbies do you have?
Photography, Reading, Cooking. One of the goals I set for myself this year was to take up another craft, not sure what that will be yet, though I am leaning towards sewing at the moment, we’ll see.
Do you have tips to help Simple Scrapper readers balance life and scrapping?
One of the biggest things I have learned is to take the time to prioritize those people and things that matter to you the most. The laundry can wait a few hours, the dishes can wait. Life is to short to worry about details. Make time for yourself and do something you really enjoy, whether that be scrapping, reading or just taking a long bath.
There is a quote I just LOVE that pretty much sums up how I feel..”The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” -Henry David Thoreau
